What should be paid attention to when using the Analytical balance

Before weighing, check whether the balance is normal, whether it is in a horizontal position, whether the lifting lugs and ring codes are off, and whether the inside and outside of the glass frame are clean. Analytical balances are indispensable instruments for quantitative analysis, generally referring to balances that can accurately weigh 0.0001 grams (0.1 mg). Be sure to pay attention to the following points when using:
1. Before using the balance, clean the dust inside and outside the balance box, check whether the level and zero point of the balance are appropriate, and whether the weights are complete.
2. The mass weighed must not exceed the maximum load of the balance. Weighing objects should be weighed in a certain container (such as a weighing flask), and hygroscopic or corrosive substances should be sealed and weighed.
3. The temperature of the weighing object must be the same as the temperature in the balance box, otherwise it will cause rising or falling air currents, pushing the balance disc, and making the weighing mass inaccurate.
4. The front door can not be used to take and place the weighing object or weight, only the side door, and the balance door should be closed gently. Handle the weighing flask with gloves or with a strip of paper.
5. The left hand must be used to open and close the lifting pivot button, and the action should be slow and stable; When taking and placing the weighing object and weight, be sure to close the lifting pivot first and lift the balance beam to avoid damage to the knife edge.
6. When weighing, the weight should be appropriately estimated, and then the balance should be turned on, and the weight should be increased or decreased according to the direction of pointer offset until the reading within 10mg appears stationary on the projection screen.
7. When the all-mechanical weighted balance increases or decreases weights by rotating the index disk, it must be gentle and do not rotate the index disk too quickly, causing the circle weights to jump or shift. When semi-mechanical weighting balances are added from 1g to 100g; When adding more than 100mg to 20g weights to the microbalance, be sure to use tweezers to gently clamp the value according to the value in the weight box.
8. Objects and large weights should be placed in the center of the balance disk, and small weights should be placed around the large weights in order.
9. Each balance is fixed with one set of weights and cannot be exchanged. Weights are only allowed to be placed in the position specified in the weight box and should never be placed on the base of the balance or on the operating table. Apply the same balance and weight to several weighing measurements of the same sample to offset errors due to balances and weights.
10. For full mechanical plus-coded balances, direct readings by index disc and projection screen. For semi-mechanical plus-coded balances, read the following readings to see the value-added knob indicator and the projection screen value; Grams above the balance weight value in the balance disk. For microbalances, the weight of less than 100mg can be rotated to increase or decrease the circle weight; When the weight exceeds 100mg, the weight in the weight box must be compared.
11. When recording the balance weight value, close the balance first, write down the mass of the weight according to the vacancy in the weight box, and check it again when retrieving the weight. Record the weighing results in a log book.
12. After weighing, take out the weighed items from the balance box in time, put the weights in the weight box, and turn the index disk back to the zero position. Unplug the power supply, check that the inner disc of the balance box is clean, and then cover the balance dust cover.
13. If the balance fails, it shall not be repaired without authorization, and it shall be reported to the Quality Assurance Department immediately.
14. Cover the dust cover and fill in the operation record.
